PM Shri Ram Ratan Lal Bhagwat Saran Atal Utkrisht Government Girls Inter College Tanakpur is located in Champawat district. This school is managed by Department of Education, Uttarakhand government. The school was founded in 1960 on the land donated by the renowned businessman of Tanakpur Shri Ram Ratan Lal ji and his son Shri Bhagwat Saran ji for the education of girls. On 21 June 1965 Lala Ram Ratan Lal ji donated this school to the state government.
In 1971 this school was upgraded to high school level and in 1976 it was upgraded to intermediate level. Now the school consists of grades from 6th to 12th. Girl students from far rural areas and Tanakpur come here to get education. The principal and all teachers are well qualified and are always dedicated towards the education of girls. The school is committed to the holistic development of girls. Apart from science and arts vocational subjects like beauty wellness and retail are also taught here.
The School got CBSE affiliation in 2021. Here the students can opt any of two mediums Hindi and English . In the year 2023 the school was selected under PM shri scheme . Under PM shri scheme this school has got smart rooms ,band set ,musical instruments, furniture PM selfie point uniform with PM shri logo , magazines books and newspapers. Health camp for the students is organised quarterly where students get free consultation.A Yoga trainer is appointed this year.
